Your library is stored on your phone. There is no account, no sign in, and we hold no copy of your books.
Every book you add, and everything you record about it, is stored on your device. That includes shelves and rooms, tags, ratings, notes, reading dates, reading sessions, loans, and any photo you take of a bookcase.
When you scan a barcode, read a cover, search for a book, or import a file, the ISBN, or the title and author, is sent to Open Library and, if it has no answer, to Google Books. They send back the cover, title, author, publisher, and page count.
These requests contain nothing about you and nothing about the rest of your library. No account, no device identifier, and no list of what you own. Open Library and Google keep their own server logs of requests made to them.
Android backs this app up along with the rest of your phone, so a new phone restores your library on its own. That copy goes to your own Google account, under Google's terms, not to us. You can stop it in your phone's settings, under Google, Backup.
A free library holds 50 books. Removing that limit is a single payment, handled by Google Play. We do not see or receive your card details, name, or address.
To know whether the limit applies, the app asks Google Play whether the Google account on the device has bought it. That question goes to Google, and the answer is yes or no. We keep no record of who has paid.
Nothing. There is no analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking in this app.
The camera is used to read barcodes and the front of a book, and to take a photo of a bookcase if you want one. Barcodes and covers are read on your phone and the image is discarded. A photo of a shelf is copied into the app's own private storage and stays there.
When you export your library, or set a daily copy to be written to a folder, that file goes where you put it. It is not sent anywhere.
This app is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anybody.
Uninstalling the app removes your library and every photo from the phone. If your phone's backup is on, a copy stays in your Google account until you delete it there. Records of a purchase are held by Google Play under Google's own policy.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
Questions about this policy can be sent through the developer contact details on the Google Play listing.
